The Fashion Show at Iowa State University is one of the most special parts of the program. It’s completely student-produced, with over 100 design entries and 15 different committees that bring the show to life. It’s a space where creativity, collaboration, and hard work all come together.
I was a member of the Behind the Scenes (BTS) committee for The Fashion Show 2024. BTS Day is designed for prospective high school students to visit campus, meet current students, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the show through the dress rehearsal. They also attend information sessions led by professors and mentors in the program, where they learn all about the fashion program and the opportunities it offers. This committee meant so much to me because BTS Day was actually the reason I decided to attend Iowa State. I came both my junior and senior years of high school, and those visits made me fall in love with the program. Getting to help lead those same tours and inspire future students felt like such a full-circle moment.
For this upcoming year, I’m stepping into a leadership role as Visual Merchandising Director for The Fashion Show 2026. I’m so proud to take on this position and can’t wait to bring creative ideas to life alongside such a hard working team. To me, The Fashion Show is the highlight of the year. It’s truly magical seeing how much passion and effort goes into an event that’s entirely student-led.
